My shoulder problem has made a convenient excuse for doing less in the house than I should and also less updating. I decided to have a procedure on Friday called a shoulder manipulation, which involves moving my arm into all the positions I can't move it into consciously under general anesthesia. Then physical therapy started on Monday. I'm glad I had the procedure and I'm optimistic about the PT.

I guess I've hit a wall with the unpacking. The areas left to do are the study, with some boxes piled next to our two two-drawer filing cabinets. I should at least be able to place the filing cabinets where I want them, but haven't done that yet. I'm not sure how much of the boxed stuff will end up in the basement.

The basement is another area to do. Right now we have boxes under the stairwell that need to go in the storage area. Then Kipper's stuff can go under the stairwell. That's probably a matter of moving boxes, but I'm not sure how to parcel out the valuable basement storage space.

In the front bedroom, I have a number of things that I'm just not sure what to do with, like my rug-hooking stuff, and so far unplaced decorative items. Along with books that have nowhere to be shelved. I wonder if we should buy a bookcase for the study ASAP.

I've been using the dining room as a place to put stuff of Kevin's that probably should be in the garage or the shed, but he hasn't shown any sign of wanting to figure out where the stuff should go. This weekend he's intending to work on his kit plane, I think.

In terms of upgrades and repairs to the house, things are getting done, but nothing's completely done. The front bathroom toilet now works, but we have to do something with the floor. Maybe just paint it. Plus I need a shower curtain and hand towels in decent colors. The guest bath needs something to hand a hand towel on.

We had recessed lighting put in the living room yesterday, and we love it. Six lights total give enough light for the whole room. Two in the middle, where the main seating area is, and two at each end. But the electrician didn't have time to do the speaker drops, or the lamppost out back.

I guess I can count as progress getting the animals used to new routines. There haven't been any accidents in the house since moving day.
